composition | time-specific, site-specific sound installation
composed, produced, and edited by Leo Gevisser
This is a time-specific sonic installation which shifts into a composition when the light starts to fade to nighttime.
It is also site-specific: incorporating binaural sound recordings while walking within the intermediary space between the Hudson River next to riverside park and the highway that borders the cityscape.
The full form of this composition involves speakers on tracks which are placed on either side of a walkway along the highway-river space, which shift into movement and sound as the light and surrounding changes.
Constituents:
4-channel sound, custom-built linear actuators, binaural sound recordings
